April 1982 Founded in Sekimachi area of Tokyo’s Nerima ward with capital of two million yen. Starts developing and selling heat treatment equipment.
March 1988 Develops GV Series of infrared guide heating systems.
June 1995 Increases capital to 10 million yen.
June 1996 Recognized for infrared guide heating technology R&D for thermal shock testing by Tokyo metropolitan government under Creative Business Activities Promotion Law.
August 1997 Relocates to Mitaka High-Technology Center.
November 2002 Recognized for ultra-high temperature/ultra-high-speed heat treatment system development by Tokyo metropolitan government under Creative Business Activities Promotion Law (second time).
April 2007 Publishes 25th anniversary commemorative booklet, ‘Twenty-Five Years of Heating Technology Advances’.
September 2008 Thermo Riko infrared guide heating systems are selected for support as promising export project by Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
April 2012 Publishes 30th anniversary commemorative booklet, ‘Thirty Years of Heating Technology Advances’.
December 2012 Management innovation plan/overseas expansion approved by governor of Tokyo.
January 2013 Establishes Thermo Riko general agency (Japan Vacuum Instruments) in Liverpool, UK. Marks start of full-scale expansion into overseas markets.
November 2015 Receives Surface Science Society of Japan’s Sangyo Sho industry award.
December 1983 Develops amorphous metal forming system for University of Tokyo’s Institute for Solid State Physics.
July 1993 to 1996 Researches ways of increasing efficiency of infrared guide heating processes with University of Electro-Communications.
1996 to 1999 Develops infrared heat-based ceramic thermal-shock fracture testing system with Nagoya Institute of Technology.
August 2002 to 2003 Develops SiC hybrid super RTA system with National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and Nippon Thermonics, following selection of project for inclusion in Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Consortium R&D Projects for Regional Revitalization.
2008 to present Working on development with AIST, following selection of project for inclusion in AIST’s 2008 industrial technology R&D work.
2015 to present Working on development with Tohoku University’s Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials.
July 1991 Develops high-vacuum infrared heating system with new-product development subsidy from Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center.
July 1994 Develops thermal shock testing system with new-product development subsidy (second) from Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center.
November 2000 Develops compact infrared vacuum furnace with industrial development subsidy from Mitaka municipal government.
March 2003 Develops ultra-high-speed uniform-temperature heat treatment system with new-product development subsidy (third) from Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center.
February 2005 Receives Mitaka municipal government subsidy for promoting IT use and internationalization among small and medium-sized enterprises.
May 2006 Receives market development subsidy from Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center.
July 2006 Develops ultra-high temperature super RTA system with new-product development subsidy (fourth) from Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center.
May 2007 to 2008 Receives market development subsidies from Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center for two consecutive years.
September 2012 Develops tabletop ultra-high temperature RTA system with new-product development subsidy from Mitaka City Society of Commerce and Industry.
February 2015 Receives subsidy for technology support (CE Marking) for overseas expansion from Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center.
